Budleigh Salterton Bowls Club
OUTDOOR AND INDOOR BOWLS
Budleigh Salterton Bowls Club is one of the oldest bowls clubs in Devon, formed in 1903 and situated in the seaside town of Budleigh Salterton, 12 miles from the county town of Exeter. The club is one part of Budleigh Salterton Games Club which also has Tennis and Bridge sections.
The club has both Outdoor and Indoor rinks so members can play all year round. This very social club holds regular informal games with other club members every few days, called Roll-ups, which are a great way to meet other club members and get to know the game. Members can turn up, get picked for teams at random and have an enjoyable relaxed game with other club members.
There are many opportunities to play friendly matches with other local clubs both on our home rinks and going away to visit rinks at their clubs.
The club has active internal knockout and league competitions during each season for those who want to test their skill against other members. Playing competitively is a great way to hone your skill.
The club has trophy competitions that other clubs are invited to play. We play in similar competitions at other clubs too. We recently won the inaugural Madeira Centenary Trophy competition in Exmouth for example.
Members can put themselves forward to play in competitive county matches as individuals or as members of a team.
There is something for everybody at the club no matter your ability or wish to compete. Coaching is available for those who wish to learn the game or improve their skill.
