u3a at Budleigh Bowls Club
U3a is a UK-wide movement of locally run interest groups that provide a wide range of opportunities to come together to learn for fun. Members explore new ideas, skills and activities together.
There are over 1000 u3a’s with around 400,000 members.
The Exmouth branch of u3a was established in 2012 and is one of the largest in the Southwest, with over 1000 members. Annual membership is £12 and covers all monthly meetings, the National Magazine, as well as offering access to over a 100 specialist interest groups. The beating heart of the Exmouth u3a is the groups that include indoor and outdoor sports, walking and cycling, arts and crafts, music, discussions, and food. There are monthly meetings with guest speakers, frequent social trips, and many other events. People who join u3a are there to Learn – Laugh - Live.
The u3a Bowls Group was established by Budleigh Bowls Club in 2021. The Club has Indoor and Outdoor playing facilities, and the u3a bowlers meet each Tuesday at 10.30am and 2.00pm. More than 80 u3a Exmouth members have “given bowls a try” and 50 play on a regular basis.
