Safeguarding
Safeguarding Procedure
The full safeguarding policy is available on the noticeboard in the clubhouse and can be viewed and downloaded using the link here in the safeguarding section.
This procedure is to tell you what to do if you think a child or vulnerable adult needs to be safeguarded.
As we provide no activities for children and have no children as members or visitors at the club at the moment, this procedure will solely be concerned with vulnerable adults. If the club proposes activities for children, then safeguarding and child protection will be a part of the organisation of the event. This procedure will be updated should the need arise.
Definition of a vulnerable adult?
Anyone over the age of 18 who is in need of care and support REGARDLESS of whether they are receiving them
Types of Abuse (for full list, see the procedure)
What should YOU do
If you think one of our members or visitors has been subject to abuse?
RECOGNISE that you have a concern, have noticed a problem, witnessed an incident or received a direct disclosure
RESPOND keep calm and, if necessary, reassure the individual and tell them what you need to do
REPORT it to the club safeguarding officer who will
REFER that information to the Bowls England safeguarding officer
